Polyurethane replica of the bones and ligaments of the left fore, distal limb of a normal Standardbred stallion with detachable straight sesamoidean ligament (DLBLigs0001).
A 3D printed model, derived from CT/MR scanning data of normal, Standardbred stallion distal limb bones and ligaments was cast in polyurethane from a silicone mould. The polyurethane is supplied plain off-white, suitable for colouring in (paint/pens not supplied). The model can be painted with acrylic paints or coloured using Sharpie (permanent solvent colours) or Texta Pens (water soluble and washable). Reference to an accompanying colour coded chart enables precise location of anatomical structures.
This model (DLBLigs) complements models DLB and DLBLigsTends which display the bones alone and ligaments with tendons respectively. The model features a detachable straight sesamoidean ligament that can be painted separately before fitting into place. This enables study of the underlying cruciate, short and oblique sesamoidean ligaments. The model is supplied boxed with an accompanying anatomical chart and colour guide.
